Mark Knight

My background includes business development, project management, research and development, information technology, systems integration and business process reengineering both as a consultant and as a utility employee in the U.K., U.S. and Canada. I’ve worked on projects in distribution, transmission, metering, systems integration, deregulation, smart grid, transactive energy systems, interoperability, resilience, asset management, and risk management.

I am also Emeritus Chair of the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC), a group formed by the U.S. Department of Energy to promote and enable interoperability among the many entities that interact with the nation's electric power system. The GWAC maintains a broad perspective of the GridWise vision and provides industry guidance and tools that make it an available and practical resource for the various implementations of Smart Grid technology. I am also the Chair of SEPA’s Transactive Energy Working Group.
